Weekly Gratitude #35

  • Thank you to Vue cinemas for my free pair of tickets to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. I loved it!
  • Thank you to Mike's mum for inviting me to her birthday meal and to Mike's grandad for paying. We went to this quaint Indian Restaurant, really lovely and brilliant service!
  • Thank you Southport hospital (!) for looking after Stanley, Michael's brother when he fell ill suddenly when we were at the meal.
  • Thank you to Michael for making pancakes with me on Saturday because we didn't have time to on Pancake Day (Tuesday).
  • Thank you to Mike's grandparents for making home-made chips, vegetable soup and ribs of fire for tea on Saturday. It was so yummy!
  • Thank you for macarons!
  • Thank you to the strange man who won my eBay listing for the offer of a brew, but I only came round to drop off your eBay purchase. No strings attached!
  • Thank you to the random United Utilities van for making my night with their van sticker, a hilarious take on the usual "overnight tools" sticker, it read "No pies are left in this van overnight."
  • Thank you to Mike for driving to mine early in the morning before I even got the chance to get hold of him, to return my phone which I'd forgotten.
  • Thank you to Mike for buying me the cat jumper I'd been longing for for the past week! I love it so much <3
  • Thank you for awful jokes... "Why didn't the melons get married? Because they cantaloupe."
  • Thank you for Lifehacker :)
  • Thank you to Mike for taking me to Bents and M&S Six Acres.
  • Thank you to Mike's granddad for giving us a massive box of Thorntons chocolates! Yum!

'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1' Short Film Review

OH MY GOD I WILL NEVER GET THAT TIME BACK

'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' Short Film Review

So bloody well written. So many bloody great actors.

5/5

Funny Facts

To prepare for the role of George Smiley, Gary Oldman ate a lot of treacle sponge and custard to "put on a bit of middle-aged tummy".

In the Paris scene with the white Peugeot, two silver, modern cars can be seen parked on the street just up the hill from the Peugeot. (Being a fan of cars, I remember spotting this!)

'The Woman In Black' Short Film Review

Definitely not one of those "scary" films that are sometimes funny, this is just plain terrifying. Probably shouldn't be a 12A.

5/5

Funny Facts

The actress that plays the actual woman in black is ironically called Liz White.

Daniel Radcliffe's real life girlfriend, Rosie Coker, who is a production assistant in the movie, appears as The Woman in Black, in the "Asleep Behind The Desk" scene.
